Design inspiration:
Herbert James "Burt" Munro, (25 March 1899 – 6 January 1978) was a New Zealand motorcycle racer, famous for setting an under-1,000 cc world record, at Bonneville, on 26 August 1967. His is a story of iconic kiwi ingenuity and sheer determination. Burt worked for 20 years modifying his 1920 Indian motorcycle from his garage in Invercargill using the most basic of tools and plenty of improvisation. His record still stands today.
